Tire test for GSF 1200 Bandit

Here is a small result of a tire test I hae found in the german motorbike magazine "motorrad reisen + sport"

Please feel free to send me some comments if you have some additional information about the tested tires, or other tires you have already used on your B12 or B6.

Here are some general things about the test:

Tire dimension:

120/70 x 17 (front)
180/55 x 17 (rear)

Testing locations :

Dry conditions : Racecourse Cartagena in Spain
Wet conditions : Test course of Continental to get really compareble results
High Speed test: High speed roll test center from Metzeler

Bikes :

Four series- produced Suzuki GSF 1200er Bandits with small changes at the suspension
for the wet tests one ABS mobel of the Bandit was selected to be saver and to get results which can be compared.

Changes made to the bikes :

Changed the suspension to ones from White Power which are harder than the original, better for the racing cours in Spain

Drivers :

8 different drivers with different driving experience

Reference tire :

The serial tire for the Bandit, Michelin Macadam 90 X

* The test result of the MTR 04 are partly made with tires made before 10. week 1995, the actual rubber tend to be stikier with a little more wear out

As the first result of the test I give you some time results ridden by the testers on wet conditions and also the way to drive until the tires are weared out. For our american readers one kilometer ??? miles. (I have to look in an table, but I did not find it !!):
