About Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The town is served by an motorway, and has railway connections to Munich, Innsbruck, Reutte and to the Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany, which is nearby and 2962 m high. The views of the majestic peak from the town are especially spectacular and several accessible hiking trails cover both the lower and higher elevations.

Garmisch is in Upper Bavaria where you will find picture book villages, royal castles and monasteries, hills, lakes and pastures. Upper Bavaria is a paradise for every cyclist. Come to Garmisch for Mountain biking, skiing and hiking.

DIRECTIONS

By train

From Munich HBF take the RegionalBahn to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (takes about 1:30h)

Buy the BayernTicket which costs about 15 Euros (valid on trains and busses in Bavaria for one day)

From Garmisch-Partenkirchen train station it is a 15 min. walk to Fritz-Mueller-Strasse 32.

If you don`t want to walk you can catch a taxi in front of the train station or take the local bus direction “Skistadion”.

 

From the airport Munich

to Munich HBF take the S-Bahn No.: S 8. The BayernTicket is valid on this line, too.

 

These connections are easy to find and run regular, you will get from the Airport in Munich with only one ticket all the way to Garmisch.

By car

 

From Munich take the A 95 to the end of the motorway and then continue on the B2 to Garmisch (about 1 hours drive).
