Hannes Wanderer is a bookmaker in the first place and many know him as the publisher of Peperoni Books. So it’s no wonder that his lectures are about making photobooks. What most people don’t know is that Hannes Wanderer is also an explorer of popular music and an enthusiast when it comes to the oceanic work of Bob Dylan as a writer and even more as a performer.

Ok, it’s a bit a matter of the photographer’s approach, his choice of motifs and the way he uses color. But still, it’s astonishing how the pictures are alike. Max Sher visited 70 places, in Russia and post-Soviet countries, and photographed the architecture and urban landscape as seen and experienced there in everyday life. /// more
